Thirty-First Sunday in Ordinary Time

You have mercy on all, because you can do all things…For you love all things that are and loathe nothing you have made.  (Wisdom 11)

God’s love and mercy towards all he has made is a good backdrop for us to reflect on the upcoming election.  We must respect human life, especially the life of the unborn, but also the earth, the dignity of each person at all stages of life, religious freedom and all people. While we may not agree with others attitudes or ways of life, we must always treat people with dignity, respect and love, because God also does. “He loved us first” (1 John 4).
