Week of Prayer for Christian Unity

Wednesday, January 18 – Wednesday, January 25 is the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. The theme is from Isaiah 1:17, “Do good; seek justice.”  The entire scriptural passage for the theme is Isaiah 1:12-18, which laments a lack of justice among the People of God. Yet, it also promises redemption by encouraging acts of justice. The division of Christians is a great wound in the side of Christ, who willed that all who believe in him would be one. This week we are invited to pray for greater unity and to seek greater dialogue and respect among all believers. In honor of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, we will be celebrating the follow themes at our 8:00 a.m. daily Masses from January 16-25th:

  • Monday, January 23rd- Anniversary of Roe vs. Wade (legalizing abortion): A day of prayer for the Protection of the Unborn Children; Mass for the giving Thanks for Human Life #48/1A or 1B
  • Tuesday, January 24th- St. Francis de Sales
  • Wednesday, January 25th- The Conversion of St. Paul

Semana de Oración por la Unidad de los Cristianos 18-25 de Enero

Miércoles 18 de Enero a Miércoles 25 de Enero es la Semana de Oración por la Unidad de los Cristianos. El tema es de Isaías 1:17, “Haced el bien; buscar justicia”. Todo el pasaje bíblico del tema es Isaías 1:12-18, que lamenta la falta de justicia en el Pueblo de Dios. Sin embargo, también promete la redención fomentando actos de justicia. La división de los cristianos es una gran herida en el costado de Cristo, que quiso que todos los que creen en él fueran uno. Esta semana estamos invitados a orar por una mayor unidad ya buscar un mayor diálogo y respeto entre todos los creyentes. En honor a la Semana de Oración por la Unidad de los Cristianos, celebraremos los siguientes temas en nuestras Misas diarias de las 8:00 a.m. del 16 al 25 de Enero:

  • Lunes 23 de Enero – Aniversario de Roe vs. Wade (legalización del aborto): Jornada de oración por la Protección del Niño No Nacido
  • Martes 24 de Enero – San Francisco de Sales
  • Miércoles 25 de Enero – La Conversión de San Pablo
