Sixth Sunday of Easter

The Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything and remind you of all that I told you.” (John 14)

As Jesus prepares for his departure from his disciples, he assures them that he will not abandon them, but that he (or the Father) will send them the Holy Spirit. Being of One God, the Holy Spirit has the same spirit and mind and heart as Jesus, but the Spirit will be inside of them, in their hearts (and ours), guiding them interiorly. He is also present through the leadership of the church, as we see in the First Reading, guiding the whole church together, to keep us together in the unity of love and the unity of correct doctrine and a unified practice of the faith.
